Stockholm works with Populus to manage micromobility

The Swedish capital of Stockholm is deploying the Populus Mobility Manager platform to manage its electric bike, moped, carsharing, and other shared mobility services.

The implementation of a mobility management system takes a significant step towards ensuring that micromobility use is actively managed and complies with the requirements set by the city.

Optimising transportation networks

Under the agreement, Populus will provide Stockholm with access to its secure platform to optimise the city’s transportation networks, reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality, and enhancing the overall quality of life for its residents and visitors.

It will enable Stockholm to validate operator data, monitor real-time vehicle movements, create, communicate, and track compliance with policies, and analyse how and where electric bikes are being used.

The city will also be able to evaluate programme performance across multiple metrics, including vehicle utilisation, fleet distribution, and accessibility, and leverage trip data to inform infrastructure investment decisions such as bike lanes.
