Atlanta to host first US edition of Smart City Expo

The event organisers hope to “redefine what it means to be a smart city”.

The city of Atlanta will host the first edition of Smart City Expo in the United States.

 

The event will be held from September 11-13 and will be jointly organised by the Mayor of Atlanta’s office, Fira de Barcelona and the Metro-Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

 

Smart City Expo Atlanta (SCATL) plans to bring together more than 2,500 attendees, 200 speakers and 50 exhibitors at the Georgia World Congress Center.

The Smart City Expo Atlanta (SCATL) event will bring together leaders from government, corporations, non-profits and start-ups to “redefine what it means to be a smart city”.

 

They will discuss issues such as social and economic mobility, equitable infrastructure and human capital against the backdrop of the digital transformation that is underway in cities, enabled by artificial intelligence, data analytics and more.

We look forward to hosting cross-sector leaders from around the globe to this internationally-recognised summit."

Fira de Barcelona also hosts editions of Smart City Expo in Latin America, Africa and Asia, with the flagship global event, Smart City Expo World Congress, running in Barcelona in November.
