Meo has announced the first release of Blue, an air quality improvement platform specifically designed to reduce energy and sickness costs.

The platform, currently available in Hong Kong, Singapore and France, helps governments and businesses actively assess and take steps to reduce indoor air pollution and is already being used by smart city businesses.

It manages the impact of outdoor air pollution, as well as optimises energy consumption, based on data and performance assessment and implementing smart responses to reduce the health impact and energy costs from pollution.

Blue provides up-to-the minute information on the most relevant air quality parameters used by smart buildings and smart cities: particulate matter (PM 2.5 & PM 10), volatile organic compounds, temperature and humidity.

It couples this hardware with user-friendly intelligent software to assess the data, (using plug and play characteristics, 24/7 access to information through app and website, together with Bluetooth and wi-fi connectivity) to define how to reduce air pollution and costs.

The platform is targeted at owners and users of buildings with high levels of visitors (such as hotels, offices, leisure and shopping centres) and buildings with visitors more susceptible to health issues (such as schools and hospitals).

“Businesses and governments need to ensure better air quality and reduce energy costs,” said Sakétaram Soussilane, CEO of Meo. "Fortunately, it is now possible to take effective measures to control air quality with sufficient, accurate and location-specific data. With Blue, business and government can assess air quality on a 24/7 basis, and based on this, they can PLAN and ACT to ensure better air quality – both indoor and outdoor."

Meo is a Hong Kong-based, health-focused company providing businesses and governments with technology solutions to common environmental concerns and has an initial focus on air quality.
