Liaison Technologies is inviting applications for a new college scholarship designed to empower the next generation of data-inspired leaders.

The biannual Data-Inspired Future Scholarship will award two enterprising high school seniors or college students with $5,000 each to put toward educational expenses.

The cloud-based integration and data management solutions provider said its scholarship programme is intended to encourage tomorrow’s leaders to consider the growing influence of data and the ways in which it will revolutionise business and society in the future.

As the volume, variety and velocity of data continues to dramatically increase, so too does the

demand for integration and data management professionals and data scientists.

With this scholarship, Liaison hopes to inspire students to pursue careers in the fast-growing data fields and apply their talents to helping us better integrate, secure, and derive insight from data.

“Insight gained from data is driving innovation across every aspect of our lives -- from personalised healthcare to the smart cities we live in to the streamlined delivery of the goods we purchase online,” said Pamela Osborne, director of human resources for Liaison Technologies.

“We want to see what tomorrow’s data experts have to say about the role of data in creating a more vibrant future and the obstacles we face in getting there.”

Available to high school seniors or to current undergraduate or graduate college students, the Data-Inspired Future Scholarship will provide resources to help talented students in any field launch their careers.

To apply, entrants must submit a resume, along with a 30-60-second video that addresses an important aspect of data, relative to today or the future, along with one interesting fact about themselves.

The respective deadlines to apply for this year’s scholarships are May 31 and October 31, 2017; recipients will be announced June 30 and November 30, 2017.
