Karhoo enables its network of partners to integrate a local and national taxi and vehicles-for-hire offering into their service, extending travel options for customers.
The mobility exchange company Karhoo has signed a number of new connected mobility partnerships. They include with train booking company Trainline and French apart-hotels leader AppartCity.
A subsidiary of the Renault Group, Karhoo is a global marketplace for cab companies, private driver companies and vehicles for hire and has set a target of 15,000 rides per day in 2021.
Globally, the number of rides made via the Karhoo marketplace grew by 50 per cent in 2020 (year-to-date, compared to 2019) despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The company brings together thousands of regulated fleets and their millions of drivers around the world via its platform and offers their services, in advance or on-demand, to millions of users from business-to-consumer and business-to-business organisations.
It works with major brands such as SNCF, Thalys, Booking.com or Trip.com/Ctrip, enabling them to offer first- and last-mile transport options to customers. It also facilitates mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) applications that enables organisations to integrate a local and national offer of cabs and vehicles for hire into their service. This process is used by the SNCF’s Personal Mobility Assistant, Moovizy in St-Etienne (France) and Renfe-as-a-Service and Meep in Spain.
Its latest round of partnerships include:
“Despite the sanitary context and the significant decrease in travel worldwide, we were able to demonstrate the value of the solution proposed by Karhoo,” said Vanessa Heydorff, CCO and senior vice president at Karhoo. “With the confidence of our partners, in 2021 we will continue to develop our activities in Europe and beyond.”
