Schneider’s latest range of products enables its management systems to operate as a building’s digital hub
Global energy management specialist Schneider Electric has introduced an automation server for its SmartStruxure smart building management system. The SmartX Controller AS-P is the first server device from the SmartX Controller range and will help Schneider’s management systems operate as the digital hub of a building. It will provide end-users with a fully integrated intelligent building management system (iBMS) covering HVAC, lighting, access control, power monitoring and smart building managed services.
“The launch of the AS-P demonstrates an exciting evolution of products and highlights Schneider Electric’s commitment to provide customers with the most complete and competitive offers to modernise and ensure their buildings’ efficiency,” said David Williams, ecobuildings marketing manager at Schneider Electric.
Key benefits of the SmartX Controller AS-P include dual Ethernet ports which mark the first step to extend IP communication to field controller level and the ability to deliver data directly to the user at other servers throughout the site.
Earlier in the year, Schneider unveiled the latest in its energy metre series, the Acti 9 iEM3000 designed with the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive in mind which states that automatic energy monitoring systems are required in buildings with a floor space of more than 1000sqm. The metre provides full view of energy consumption and on-site generation. Schneider claims the metre can optimise energy use and implement actions to promote energy efficiency and make it easier for installers to meet EU requirements. It is designed to bring energy and cost-savings for the installer and end user.
