Voltpost expands charging network into Westchester County

The village of Larchmont, New York, has announced the deployment of Voltpost’s pole-mounted Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) chargers.

The installations mark Voltpost’s expansion into Westchester County, bringing the company’s modular, retrofit charging platform to multiple communities investing in next-generation transportation infrastructure.

Expanding access to EV charging

The deployments will begin in Larchmont, with near-term plans to expand to Yonkers and Rye, with reported interest from additional Westchester County municipalities.

By converting existing lampposts and utility poles into EV charging stations, Voltpost claims it can deploy infrastructure in a matter of hours, at a fraction of the cost and footprint of traditional charging stations, without requiring new construction, added real estate, or lengthy permitting timelines.

The chargers are connected through AT&T’s wireless network and accessible via the Voltpost app, allowing drivers to locate chargers, check availability, and monitor charging sessions in real time. This project is supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s Vehicle-to-Grid programme.
