SmartCitiesWorld is launching a new section dedicated to the people and skills required to create great smart cities.

People and Skills will explore the latest news, trends, analysis and people moves inside the industry. It will also host the long-running and popular City Lights series, which profiles those behind a smart city’s success.

"Smart cities are nothing without people who have the inspiration and talent that build and manage them,” said Chris Cooke, CEO and founder of SmartCitiesWorld. “We have launched this important new content stream to reflect how vital those building, leading and working within the smart cities sector are.

Project partner

SmartCitiesWorld will be collaborating on this exciting new project with specialist IoT and smart city global executive search firm, Kurrant Talent.

"We are delighted to be collaborating with Kurrant Talent,” added Cooke. “Its expertise in finding the right person for the right position means it is well-placed to provide content focused on how companies are searching for top talent and upskilling existing employees within their organisations.

He continued: "The new People and Skills section is a logical step forward from what we already do at SmartCitiesWorld. As the leading platform for sharing ideas to solve urban challenges, it is critical to look at people as much as technology and innovation. In the coming weeks and months, we will be publishing employer profiles and job vacancies from across the smart cities industry.

"As ever, I want to hear from you if you have areas you feel we should be covering, important news of your own, or any other feedback on this section and indeed others.

“We want you to be able to share ideas with us as well as with members of the SmartCitiesWorld community."

Antoine Kassis, CEO and partner, Kurrant said: “Kurrant Talent is the first global executive search firm specialised in the IoT and smart city space and we are delighted to partner with SmartCitiesWorld to provide key insights about talent and careers in the industry.”
