The companies claim the relationship will provide customers with an integrated toolset that’s operationally proven to accelerate projects, lower costs and increase energy savings and other benefits.

Successful collaborations

The official partnership comes after a series of successful collaborations, with the two companies working together in the City of London, City of Glasgow, London Borough of Brent, City of Westminster, and the county of Surrey.

“We’re confident that our customers will see the benefits in every step of the lifecycle of their projects with the full integration of TerraGo’s technology with Urban Control’s smart city solutions,” said Terry Dean, CEO of Urban Control.

TerraGo’s intelligent streetlight management software is being utilised in major smart cities and utilities projects and systems around the world, including in Chicago, Greater Toronto, London, Glasgow, Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) and Jamaica Public Service.

“We’re confident that our customers will see the benefits in every step of the lifecycle of their projects with the full integration of TerraGo’s technology with Urban Control’s smart city solutions.”

Designed specifically for smart streetlight projects, the platform has earned three Smart 50 awards for results and innovation, enabling customers to deploy and maintain networked lighting systems more efficiently, producing a clear, measurable return on investment.

TerraGo technology is also behind some of the industry’s most widely adopted geospatial field applications with its GeoPDF products. Today, it is developing field application software for smart cities, utilities and defence customers.

Urban Control will offer a private-labelled, customisable version of TerraGo’s mobile and web apps, offered as UrbanApp and UrbanConnect respectively.

“Urban Control demonstrates a real dedication to helping their customers adapt technology to their unique needs, while saving time and money on their smart cities projects,” added Dave Basil, president and CEO of TerraGo.

“We’re excited to help [it] continue delivering superior customer results with TerraGo streetlights.”
