Sensor networks that provide visibility into air pollution and autonomous aqua drone technology that captures critical water data are among the solutions that will be piloted across the city.
The programme aims to show what can happen when the private and public sector team up with civic groups and academic experts to tackle the biggest challenges facing the city.
Seven finalists will receive an award of $10,000 from NYC to test their proposals in the city, and be given the opportunity to partner to deliver solutions to local small businesses.
