Cities Climate Action Summit On-Demand

Welcome to the Cities Climate Action Summit 2023 On Demand. The inaugural Summit brought together city practitioners, leaders and topic area experts from across the globe to assess the status quo and highlight practical steps forward in three key areas: policy development, climate financing, and technology development. Here, you can gain access to every keynote, discussion and case study hosted during the Summit, with all content divided into its respective key topic area, as seen below.

To do so, the first thing you’ll need is a SmartCitiesWorld membership, which you can sign up for here.

After this, follow the instructions within any of the content below to quickly and easily purchase your pass to access all Summit content.

Policy development

Effective discussion and development of key policy areas is critical to mitigating and adapting to the effects of the changing climate. Below, you’ll find the keynotes, discussions and case studies from the Cities Climate Action Summit that deal with how to responsibly develop policy for the short and long-term in order to create sustainable urban environments with liveability and equity at their centre.

Climate financing

The Cities Climate Action Summit 2023 demonstrated that if there is one common factor in cities’ and regions’ fight against climate change, a lack of sustainable and long-term funding and investment is it. The sessions here explore how that trend can be reversed, the work being done by cities, NGOs and the private sector to support net-zero goals, and how resilience factors into green finance.

Technology deployment

Technology, from sensors to data analytics, has a crucial and growing part to play in cities’ work to manage climate change. Here, the Cities Climate Action Summit brought together experts to delve into how environmental monitoring, and the subsequent data insights from those efforts, are helping to shape and inform environmental action at scale.
