Florence (Italy)

Florence has a population of 390,000, with over 1.5 million people in its metropolitan area. Located in central Italy, Florence is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance, and is therefore considered a global culture hub. Forbes has ranked it one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and the city’s Historic Centre became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982. The city is naturally a tourist hub, though manufacturing and commerce are still important.
