People have reportedly taken more than 5,000 rides on the Voi ebikes since 21 May 2026 in the city centre, averaging 7.4 trips per bike per day.
The area the e-bikes is available in is due to be expanded towards the end of next week, adding another 100 bikes to the existing fleet of 100 bikes.
Aberdeen City Council chief officer of strategic place planning David Dunne, said: “It’s great that so many trips have been taken on the new e-bikes in the first week of operation.
"As more riders join, it’s really important that everyone follows the rules, rides considerately and parks responsibly, so that e-bikes remain a welcome addition to Aberdeen’s streets for residents, businesses, and visitors alike”
“With the phase two of the roll-out due to happen next week, there’ll be an even wider area for people to use the bikes in.”
People can use the free-to-download Voi app to rent the e-bikes. All riders can get their first ride for free by entering the code SCOTLAND in the app, which provides 15 minutes without charge.
