The Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) in Canada has announced it has deployed Octave OnCall Dispatch to strengthen its emergency response capabilities.
SFD reports that it serves more than 308,000 residents and responds to some 25,000 calls for service annually in the city, located in the province of Saskatchewan. The new computer-aided dispatch (Cad) system from Octave introduces advanced tools that streamline communication, accelerate response times and support more informed decision-making during emergencies and major events.
With Canada’s federal mandate to transition emergency services to Next-Generation 911 (NG911) by 2027, SFD reckons OnCall Dispatch positions it to keep pace with evolving public safety standards and helps ensure it is well-positioned for the future. The new CAD system works in tandem with NG911 by transforming caller information into real-time operational insight.
