Thirty-nine Irizar electric buses are being supplied to operator Arriva Personenvervoer Netherland and will provide services in several cities in the region.

Dutch transport company Arriva Personenvervoer Netherherland has placed an order for 39 electric buses that will be put into operation in the Oost-Brabant region.
The e-mobility electric buses from Irizar will be incorporated into the Arriva Netherland public transport network, and they will operate on a high-capacity bus rapid transit (BRT) line, specifically in the cities of Tilburg and ’s-Hertogenbosch.
Eighteen of the units will be 12-metres long and the other 21 units will be 18-metre articulated units, all of them will be the Irizar ie tram model. Delivery of the buses is scheduled for December 2026.

They perfectly meet the needs for the busy, high-frequency city lines in Tilburg and ’s-Hertogenbosch,” said Jan Pieter Been, regional director south at Arriva Netherlands. “We have high expectations for these vehicles and look forward to putting them into service in December.”
The vehicles will be equipped with Irizar batteries that have more than 615 kWh of power, and they will be charged in the depot using a Combo 2 system. They will have both an electric ramp and a manual one for better accessibility. Additionally, the operator has chosen to include seats with an interurban design, which will provide greater comfort for the passengers.

As a special feature, the driver’s seat will have a personalised position memory, so the seat configuration can be adjusted automatically for each person, to improve comfort and ergonomics while driving.
It is the first time that Irizar e-mobility will be supplying its electric buses to the Netherlands.
