Unesco Biosphere status and a supportive ecosystem offer an ideal environment for innovation with entries invited across fintech, cleantech and data and AI.

The Isle of Man Government has launched an Innovation Challenge 2025, inviting organisations from around the world to submit solutions across the areas of cleantech, fintech and data and artificial intelligence (AI).
For the third consecutive year, participating organisations will develop, test, and refine creative technology-based solutions that drive sustainable progress across industries globally and on-island.
The challenge is a central pillar of the Isle of Man Government’s strategy to position itself as a global hub for businesses, leveraging its agile regulatory environment, collaborative ecosystem and Unesco Biosphere designation.
The launch took place at Digital Isle, the Isle of Man’s annual tech conference, hosted by the Isle of Man Department of Enterprise’s executive agency.
“The Island’s Unesco Biosphere status and supportive ecosystem offer an ideal environment for innovation. We look forward to the outcomes of the 2025 cohort”
Businesses are encouraged to explore transformative solutions in one of the three categories, with the opportunity to win in any of them by meeting the requirements outlined below:
The challenge offers opportunities for both global and local enterprises, supporting them to scale their solutions. It fosters mentorship, networking, and collaboration opportunities between participants, investors, and potential clients. Winners and participants gain both local and international exposure, boosting the credibility of their projects.
Last year’s winners included Re-universe (cleantech) for its packaging reuse system, Acentrik (data and AI) for a data exchange solution, Umazi (fintech) for client data and onboarding, and 4Learn (Biosphere) for its PLAI software in education.
The competition will culminate in a finale event on 26 June 2025, where finalists will have the opportunity to present their solutions to an expert panel of judges, technology businesses, and the wider industry, as their visionary ideas meet decision-makers ready to propel them into the future.
“The Innovation Challenge reflects the Isle of Man’s commitment to driving impactful solutions to global and local challenges,” said Lyle Wraxall, chief executive, Digital Isle of Man. “Focused on fintech, cleantech and data and AI, it provides a platform for businesses to develop sustainable technologies. The Island’s Unesco Biosphere status and supportive ecosystem offer an ideal environment for innovation. We look forward to the outcomes of the 2025 cohort.”
