The parking subsidiary of shared mobility company, Keolis, has been awarded a seven-year contract to run the Ceria-Coovi metro station’s park-and-ride facility by the parking authority of the Greater Brussels region.

With arterial road links to the city and direct connection to Brussels metro, Customers can reach the city centre in just 20 minutes.

Shared mobility experts

Parking strengthens Keolis’ multi-modal offering for transportation. It runs a number of shared mobility offerings around the world, which include the integration of autonomous pods. Effia, which began its expansion plans in Belgium in 2017 with the acquisition of Alfa Park and Parkeren Roeselare, integrates digital services into the customer experience, promoting new mobility options such as electric vehicles and car-sharing.

The car park, located on the city border of Brussels, provides 1,300 spaces over five levels.

From Spring 2019, it will be managed by three Effia employees. The contract covers the management of customer payment systems and safety equipment, in addition to the daily running of the car park.

Licence plate recognition

Two million euros will be invested over the life of the contract in the latest generation technology for parking access and security monitoring. This includes a ticketless system that uses licence plate recognition (LPR) cameras and a video surveillance system connected to the 24-hour operations control centre.

Effia also plans to demonstrate its eco-friendly approach by installing rooftop solar panels, making it the largest deployment of solar panels on a car park in Belgium.

The Ceria-Coovi park and ride facility is open 24 hours a day.
